The CELF conference included a Workshop on Embedded Debian, given by Wookey and Neil Williams.
Attendees were given an overview of the current emdebian system and state of development, along with a run-through of how to use the tools. See docs/howto.html for an online version.
An absence of net access limited the demonstration somewhat, but we managed to get a couple of people set up with the tools, ready to start building systems, and got some useful feedback on how people would like to use emdebian.
A side-effect of this was that we fixed the support for native (as opposed to cross) building so if you don't need to cross-build you can still use the tools to build emdebianised packages. A small pile of tools bugs was fixed too.
Wookey also participated on the closing panel on the 'Ideal Embedded Linux distribution', which included a most entertaining discussion on the merits of commercial distributions vs mainstream distibutions/kernels and community support.
